Success Stories — Lives Being Transformed
I would like to express my appreciation for the dedication and effectiveness of Alpha Prison Ministries in discipling inmates in their Christian faith. After many years, Alpha continues to be an active volunteer ministry at this facility which I highly value. Thank you for your excellent contribution into the lives of those who are in prison.
Steven
Institutional Chaplain (DRF)
Alpha Prison Ministries is privileged to be on the front lines and see the power of God, and the gospel of Jesus Christ, at work in lives of prisoners. Our volunteers get to witness the light and life in the eyes of men who at one time had no hope, they get to hear first hand the stories of how God has done for them what no one else could do.
There are times when we at Alpha Prison Ministries receive letters, and the evidence of God’s handiwork is put into print, even though words fail to adequately express his glory. We have shared these success stories in previous newsletters, and are excited to share some of them here as a reminder that God is using all of us to have an impact.
For those who have prayed for us, prayed for the men we minister to, volunteered in any way, donated goods and services, provided jobs for ex-offenders, and/or given financially to Alpha Prison Ministries, these testimonies are to your credit as well. You have helped make this all possible.

No Longer Self Reliant
I used to think that I can do it on my own. I did not need anyone. I knew of God, but I did not know God. I always thought, I don’t need God’s help. I am just fine. Peace and Confidence of a Prisoner
I grew up going to church regularly, attended Sunday School, went to Catechism, got confirmed, and all that, but I was just going through the motions. I felt that God wasn’t concerned with my small issues, and that he had his hands full with the old people who were getting ready to die and go be with him. Well, such is a child’s thoughts, but it’s only been in the last couple years where I’ve come to realize the monitoring that God does in my life. More…
God’s Word Wins Over an Atheist
Before October 19, 2005, I was an atheist, believing that when you died, it was over. In September 2005, I was convicted and placed in the Allegan County Jail until sentencing in October. I was in a cell with 4 others for 30 days listening to them say that the Lord would get them out of their mess. My opinion was, if they had the Lord in their life, they wouldn’t be in here in the first place. More…

Jesus Christ Frees Murderer
Dead on arrival! With no desire to see 1976, I attempted suicide. A Christian woman 300 miles away saw me at death’s door. God told her I would not pass through until 2000 plus (Jeremiah 29:11). Her call had alerted officials in time. They were able to revive me. I hated God! More…
I Was a Time Bomb Ready to Go Off
I was raised on a small farm in Northwest Michigan. As a child growing up on a farm, I learned a lot of different skills that would help me find jobs as an adult.
